Robbie Simpson battles conditions to retain Inverness Half Marathon title while Liz Abbott makes a breakthrough performance

Robbie Simpson (handicap -4.6) realised just how tough the conditions were towards the end of yesterday's Inverness half marathon when he looked up and saw a seagull which was struggling to make any headway into the ferocious conditions. Liz Abbott ran a 10 minute PB in winning the women's event.
